Tuohy Sports tees-off twice in October for charities

SANDWICH, Mass. – Tuohy Sports has organized a pair of golf fundraisers -- “Tee-off to Cure Multiple Sclerosis” and the “Old Colony Sports Golf Tournament” – in October.

Boston Cure Project for MS is sponsoring the inaugural “Tee-off to Cure MS” October 8 at Pinehills Country Club in Plymouth, while once again OCS is hosting its own annual event Oct. 13 at Sandwich Hallows.

“Tuohy Sports  is an event marketing company,” OCS founder and president Hank Tuohy explained. “We’ve organized many charity golf tournament and plan on presenting 15 charity golf tournaments a year, nationwide, in addition to promoting three or four boxing shows on national television like the successful one we did July 18 on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights live from the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis. We’ve decided to increase our visibility in sports like golf and boxing through our cross-marketing philosophy for corporate events.”

“Tee-off to Cure MS” at Pinehills Country Club, recently selected as one of the top 10 new courses in the country by Golf Digest, will start at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start and best ball format. Cost to participate is $300 per person, $1200 per foursome team. Fees include golf, use of the cart, bucket of balls, tournament shirt, and dinner at Pinehills. Proceeds go to Boston Cure Project for MS to support its efforts to cure this debilitating disease.

The “TSE Golf Tournament” will commence at 10 a.m., also with a shotgun start and best ball format, at Sandwich Hallows. Dinner and prizes will follow after golf at Sandwich Hallows. Proceeds will benefit a not for profit project to build a new football/multi-sport complex at Sandwich High.

Celebrity players including former Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics have been invited to play with participants at both events.
