Tuohy Sports expansion continues
SANDWICH,
Mass. (May 3, 2004) – Tuohy Sports & Entertainment (TSE) has
expanded its target area by delivering its cross marketing
philosophy to maximize promotional results through a growing client
list of sports clubs, businesses and events all across the country.
“Tuohy
Sports & Entertainment has been able to increase its visibility
by expanding our services in sports like soccer and softball, which
added to our track record for successfully marketing golf and pro
boxing events,” TSE Hank Tuohy explained the growth of his Cape
Cod-based sports marketing company. “The relationships I’ve
developed in sports over the years has allowed us to grow
exponentially in a relative short period of time. Clients understand
that we’re doers, not say-ers. Our message remains: promote the
positive and everybody participating in or attending our promotions
enjoying a wonderful experience.”
In
the past six months, TSE has acquired several new clients like the
New England Riptide women’s professional softball team and New
England Soccer School, in addition to launching a unique sports
radio program, “Pros On Pros, on Boston’s Sports Station 1510 AM
The Zone.
The
New England Riptide (NER), based in Lowell (MA), is one of six
members of the National Pro Fastpitch league, opening play June 1 in
its inaugural 60-game season.
The
first-year New England Soccer School (NESS), located at the Amesbury
Sports Park in Amesbury (MA), is a state-of-the-art, revolutionary
training center for youth and adult players, coaches and officials.
TSE
is responsible for event marketing and selling sponsorship packages
for NER and NESS.
“Pros
On Pros,” hosted by former New England Patriots players Tim Fox
and Peter Brock, is a popular sports radio show featuring only past
or present athletes or administrators – no media members – as
guests. “Pros On Pros” airs Tuesday evenings (6-8 p.m.) on
Sporting News Radio from a variety of remote venues. Guests to date
have included John Hannah, Eamon Coghlan, Gerry Cooney, Micky Ward,
Dave Cowens, Rick Middleton, Bill Lee, Bobby Sweeney, Gil Brandt and
Wick Grousbeck.
Last
summer, Tuohy’s company promoted its first professional boxing
show -- “Battle Zone at the Tent” -- live on ESPN2 Friday Night
Fights from the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis (MA). The action
returns August 10 with “Battle Zone at the Tent II,” which will
be broadcasted on national television and held in association with
Fighters Initiative for Support and Training (F.I.S.T.). Tuohy is
the first boxing promoter to pledge $1.00 to F.I.S.T. from every
ticket sold to his fight shows. The day after “Battle Zone at the
Tent II,” TSE will present the inaugural F.I.S.T. Charity Golf
Tournament in Hyannis.
TSE
plans to promote a dozen fundraising golf tournaments in 2004,
including United Way Celebrity (Aug. 16) in Pawtucket (RI), Retired
Boxers Foundation (Sept. 7) at Andover, TSE Tournament (September
27) in Sandwich (MA), Pilot House (October 18) in Bourne (MA), and
Heroes In Blue (Oct. 24) in Myrtle Beach (SC).
