CombatZone 3 Saturday night in Revere

AMESBURY, Mass. – Many of the best kick-boxers, San Shou, Mixed Martial Arts, and Muay Tai fighters in the East will be in action Saturday night (Sept. 20) in  Combatzone 3,” presented by Trilogy/Black Belt Productions, at Club Lido in the Wonderland Entertainment Center (formerly Wonderland Ballroom).

The main event matches heavyweight professional kick-boxers John “The Bull” Marzullo, of Providence (RI), against Jason “The Trooper” Bonacorsi, of Nashua (NH), in Super Fight. Bonacorsi originally was slated to be in the main event, but he suffered a cut during training and was forced to the sidelines. A combination of events and a quick recovering finds him back in “CombatZone 3.”

“The fans love Jason and we’re thrilled and fortunate to have him back on the show,” promoter Bruce Marshall said. “Marzullo versus Bonacorsi is going to be a great fight. We have an evening of super fights on this show with some of the best pros and amateurs around.”

Professional kickboxers Gary “The Bone” Bonenfant, of Manchester (NH) and Frank “Goodfella” D’Ambra, of Rochester (NY), battle for the New England Combatzone Super Middleweight Championship in the co-feature.

Richard “The Fighting Cop” Feliciano, of New Bedford (MA) and Huzon Alexander, of Waterbury (VT), face each other again in an exciting kickboxing rematch (Alexander won a close decision) for the New England Combatzone (amateur) super middleweight title. 

Amateur kickboxing middleweights John Levessour, of Manchester (NH), and Greg Rogers, of Concord (NH), are matched for the New England Combatzone Championship. 

Jimmy Rau, of Amesbury (MA), fights Matt Parlagori, of Concord (NH). Two female matches are on tap with middleweights Peggy Morgan, of Brookline (NH), against Cheryl Hall, of Acushnet (MA), welterweights Suzie Paschkewitz, of Boston, versus Dawna Creighton, of Quincy (MA).

Three-time US super welterweight amateur champion, Michael Norman, of Boston, fights 2002 USWU Bronze Medallist James Battle, of New York City, in a special San Shou match. No. 1 rated amateur San Shou welterweight Albert Pope, of Riverdale (CT) meets US No. 2 rated Ian Morgan, of New York City.

Revere (MA) cruiserweight Bill Newcomb faces Derrick Szmyt, of Boston, in a Muay Thai fight. 

Mixed Martial Arts (“No Holds Barred”) fights with two five-minute rounds find cruiserweights Lee MacNeil (Merrimack, NH) and Joe Borges (Fall River, MA), super heavyweights Mike Mitchell, of Everett (MA), and Richard Mitchell, of Attica (NY), cruiserweights John McCarron, of Dorchester (MA), and Rob Marvin, of Churchville (NY). Mike Mitchell and McCarron represent Joao Amaral’s New England Brazilian Ju-Jitsu of Everett.

All matches and fighters are subject to change.

The doors open at 7 p.m. with the first bout at for 8 p.m. Ticket prices $100.00 VIP stage seating, $65.00 first row ringside, $50.00 ringside, are $30.00 general admission.
