Combatzone 3 Kickboxing invades Revere

Saturday Night, Sept. 20

AMESBURY, Mass. – Full contact kickboxing -- as well as Muay Thai, San Shou, and Mixed Martial Arts fighting -- returns to Revere (MA) on Saturday night, September 20 with “Combatzone 3,” presented by Trilogy/Black Belt Productions, at Club Lido in the Wonderland Entertainment Center (formerly Wonderland Ballroom).

“Some of the top pros and amateurs in full contact kickboxing, Muay Thai, San Shou and mixed martial arts are going to be fighting on this show,” promoter Bruce Marshall said. “We also have some skilled women fighters. Fans are going to watch an exciting, action-packed show with some great boxing, kicking and submission holds. This is the sport of the future.”

A pair of heavyweight full-contact kickboxing eliminator matches headline “Combatzone 3” with four contenders trying to better position themselves for a future world title shot. In a pair of five round bouts (2-minute rounds), USKBA No. 1 rated Mike “Fighting Irish” Ryan, of New York City, faces Jason “The Trooper” Bonacorsi, of Concord (NH) in Super Fight I, while John “The Bull” Marzullo, of Providence (RI) squares-off against Scott “The Skull Crusher” Jones, of Raymond (NH), in Super Fight II.

Also in kickboxing, Gary “The Bone” Bonenfant, of Manchester (NH) battles Frank “Goodfella” D’Ambra, of Rochester (NY) for the USKBA International Super Middleweight Championship; Richard “The Fighting Cop” Feliciano, of New Bedford (MA) seeks to avenge his only loss against Huzon Alexander, of Waterbury (VT), for the vacant USKBA middleweight title.

Super cruiserweights Jimmy Rau, of Amesbury (MA) and Matt Parlagori, of Concord (NH), are scheduled in a three-round match. Middleweights John Levessour, of Manchester (NH) and Greg Rogers, of Concord (NH), also battle in a three-rounder for the Combatzone Championship.

Two female matches are scheduled with middleweights Peggy Morgan, of Brookline (NH) versus Cheryl Hall, of Acushnet (MA), welterweights Suzie Paschkewitz, of Boston, and Dawna Creighton, of Quincy (MA).

In three-round (2-minute rounds), Muay Thai action, Revere (MA) cruiserweight Bill Newcomb takes on Derrick Szmyt, of Boston; Michael Norman, of Boston, meets James Battle, of New York City and welterweights Albert Pope, of Riverdale (CT) faces Ian Morgan, of New York City in San Shou fighting.

Mixed Martial Arts (“No Holds Barred”) fights with two five-minute rounds feature cruiserweights Bobby Dias (Dighton, MA)-Bill Mahoney (Rockland, MA), cruiserweights Lee MacNeil (Merrimack, NH)-Joe Borges (Fall River, MA).

All matches and fighters are subject to change.

The doors open at 7 p.m. with the first bout at for 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $30.00 general admission, $50.00 ringside, $65.00 first row ringside, $100.00 VIP stage seating.
